Adrian Smith

Senior Research Director

Adrian brings over 18 years' experience in market and social research, managing national and area-based projects for clients including UK Government departments, agencies, regulators, funders, professional and trade bodies. Many of his reports have been published as a testament to their quality, with findings helping to fuel policy, strategy and industry-focused interventions.

He has carried out significant policy-focused, evaluative and skills-oriented research over the years, with repeat clients including the Scottish Government, Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). He takes pride in delivering top-quality reports that get to the heart of what’s important for clients and has been fortunate to have attended three House of Lords report launch events (the cakes are delicious).Adrian is a highly proficient project manager and provides oversight and quality assurance for the research team. His end-to-end skills span research design, quantitative and qualitative research (desk and field based), analysis, reporting and dissemination. As part of his role, he engages extensively with various stakeholder networks, working groups and advisory groups.

Beyond Navigator, Adrian is an occasional writer and editor for Kyiv Post, has experience teaching English as a foreign language, and enjoys writing music – all while his three-year-old daughter regularly tries to get the better of him!
