Nick How

Research Director

Nick's first career was as a history teacher in secondary schools for 10 years before moving into market research, first at Quaestor in Leeds before moving to Qa Research (now Navigator) in 2006. In addition to a BA in American Studies and History, he has a CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing, is a Member of the Market Research Society and the York Tourism Advisory Board. There are so many projects which have been interesting to work on but having regular repeat clients and working on projects which have been recommissioned again and again over a long period of time have been a positive affirmation to the value the research has provided. To enter into the world of others, from the socially disadvantaged, those living or working in very different areas, through to experts in their field and senior decision makers is always interesting. He has presented research findings to a committee at the House of Commons and once flew business class to New York to undertake focus groups for British Airways. Adapt at both qualitative and quantitative research, with over 25 years working in market research he has hands-on experience of all aspects of the research process. With a calm, practical and thoughtful approach to project set-up, management and delivery he seeks to add value to all the projects he works on. He is always willing to learn and take on new innovations and approaches in a rapidly changing sector.Nick has eclectic interests and hobbies outside of work including riding with York Rouleurs cycle club, playing in a squash league, hill walking in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and Moors, growing fruit and veg on his allotment, wood fired cooking in the pizza oven he built, with an interest in art, architecture, history, and travelling when any opportunity arises.
