Tom Clarkson

Managing Partner - Research & Consulting

Tom studied languages and then did a Masters in European Politics. His first job in research was for a political pollster, and involved regular trips to Brussels to conduct research among MEPs, European Commission officials and other EU officials. He used to appear regularly in the media as his agency's expert on Brexit public opinion and was semi-regularly on Radio 4 and Sky News at the height of the Parliamentary chaos. He has also worked with numerous media outlets on election polling, which was fast-paced and entertaining. Research that he has led or overseen has been shortlisted for major industry awards (AQR and MRS) 4 times in the last 5 years - always on important policy issues affecting British society, underlining our commitment to having a positive impact on the world in which we live. By training, he's a mixed method researcher, although in recent years, he's leaned more towards qualitative research and enjoys all aspects of the qualitative process. He's told that he's good at keeping calm under pressure. As a sports fanatic, he will play / watch almost any sport - particularly football, running, golf and cycling. He also tries and fails to keep his languages going - finding watching French and German football at the centre of his Venn diagram of interests. He bakes fresh bread and pizzas most weekends.
