Yong Yeo

Yong achieved a master’s degree in applied anthropology from Maryland, US, then worked in the US for three years at a research services company, before moving to South Wales in 2024. She developed an interest in research during her years at university and has always enjoyed learning new things. Since 2024, she helped deliver a variety of projects, the most recent one being a landscape review and gap analysis of robotic skills commissioned by DSIT. She found the topic to be pertinent and interesting, especially as she has learnt a lot from speaking to different experts from industry bodies, academia, and end-users. Interviews with them hallowed her to gain a better understanding of the wider engineering landscape in the UK as well. Yong's expertise includes conducting depth interviews with different stakeholder types, coding data using inductive/deductive approaches to identify themes and creating infographics on Canva.Outside of work, she enjoys trying new baking recipes, staying active, and spending time with family and friends.
